We've already arrived in the fall of 2025, and I haven't released a single Povray package this year. Sad, sad, especially when you think about how many half-finished ones I have on my HD that I just have to complete.
So today first of all, a small one that presents a manageable amount of code, but together with the very large images it looks really nice.
With the help of high-resolution maps from NASA and GSFC, the package MA_Milkyway conjures an almost photorealistic image of the Milkyway onto Povray's Sky Sphere. Other maps can be added to show constellation-borders and -lines.
So my new and still almost empty section Download slowly makes sense. In the future, I will store large maps, images, data and arrays in it, which are used by several packages and could be useful for the work of others.
Good day everyone,
Martin
