How to build a Planet

Since I have just rendered planets again and think that the results are not bad, I dared to write a Tutorial on this subject and deposited it in my Povray section.
Maybe someone is interested in what tricks have to be used to turn a sphere into a planetary object with the help of two image files, including realistic-looking shadows.
Figuratively speaking, we transform this ...
... and this ...
... and this ...
... into this.
Or even more simple:
Povray * (round2 + rectangular + rectangular-1) = round3
Since more and more text slipped out of my fingers and it became confusing, I divided it into two parts.
Part 1 deals with the creation of the planet and shows all the necessary lines of code.
Part 2 offers more information, improvements, data sources, and whatever else I could think of.
